Constitutional Court Holds Pretrial Conference on Yoon's Impeachment

The Constitutional Court held its first pretrial conference on the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol. 

Justices Cheong Hyung-sik, who is serving as the presiding judge on the president’s impeachment case, and Lee Mi-son began the proceedings at around 2 p.m. on Friday. 

In attendance were representatives from the National Assembly, including Jung Chung-rae, who heads the Assembly’s Legislation and Judiciary Committee and is a member of the parliamentary impeachment committee, as well as Kim Lee-soo, who serves as co-chair of the delegation of lawyers representing parliament.

Yoon did not appear but was represented by his legal team in the conference, including Bae Bo-yoon, Bae Jin-han and Yun Gap-geun.

The day's proceedings ended after 40 minutes. 

The court said the next pretrial conference will take place on January 3.
