A North Korean soldier died a day after being captured by Ukrainian forces due to worsened injuries.

The National Intelligence Service (NIS) said it confirmed through intelligence authorities from one of its allies that the wounded North Korean soldier died on Friday.

Earlier on Thursday the NIS confirmed reports by Ukrainian military media outlet Militarnyi that Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces(SOF) captured a North Korean soldier during an operation in Russia’s Kursk region. 

The forces disclosed a photo of the captured soldier on its Telegram channel.
