The police have raided the homes of two officials with the Presidential Security Service as part of their ongoing investigation into the agency’s alleged role in obstructing the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol last month.

The police special team in charge of the case said in a press briefing on Monday that investigators raided the homes of secret service vice chief Kim Sung-hoon and Lee Kwang-woo, the head of the agency’s protection bureau.

The investigators seized the officials’ personal mobile phones, as well as those they used for work.

The police are also attempting to raid the secret service agency’s office to search the premises and seize materials for their investigation.

Kim and Lee, both seen as hard-liners, are suspected of blocking the anti-corruption agency’s attempts to execute an arrest warrant for Yoon last month.
