President Yoon Suk Yeol will be released from custody after a Seoul court accepted his legal team’s argument that the prosecution unlawfully detained him after failing to properly calculate when his pretrial detention warrant expired.

The Seoul Central District Court on Friday ruled for Yoon’s defense team, after it heard arguments from them and the prosecution on February 20.
