A maritime patrol aircraft operated by the Navy crashed on a mountain near Pohang Airport on Thursday.

According to the Navy and firefighting authorities, the P-3C maritime patrol aircraft crashed at 1:50 p.m. with four people on board.

Smoke is currently rising from the accident site, and fire authorities are working to extinguish the fire.

The authorities are investigating to ascertain whether there are any survivors.
