President Lee Jae-myung and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba spoke on the phone Monday for the first time, according to Japan’s Kyodo News. 

Kyodo cited a Japanese government official as the source of the information. 

It was Lee’s second phone conversation with a foreign leader since he became president, after Friday’s talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
