Former first lady Kim Keon-hee has appeared for her third interrogation while under pretrial detention as part of an ongoing special counsel investigation. 

Kim arrived at the special counsel team’s office in Seoul’s Jongno District at 1:17 p.m. Thursday and is expected to face questions about allegations that she received gifts from the Unification Church through a shaman named Jeon Seong-bae in exchange for business favors.

Kim, who has mostly invoked her right to remain silent since being taken into custody on August 12, is doing the same this time around.

The former first lady is suspected of intervening to secure the nomination of former People Power Party Rep. Kim Young-sun for the 2022 by-elections, in return for favorable data from over 80 polls conducted by power broker Myung Tae-kyun to benefit former President Yoon Suk Yeol in the 2022 presidential race.

She is also accused of colluding in stock manipulation at Deutsch Motors.
