Special counsel Min Joong-ki’s team has raided about ten locations as part of an investigation into allegations that the land ministry changed the route of a planned expressway to benefit the family of former first lady Kim Keon-hee.

Min’s team, investigating corruption allegations against Kim, said Friday that its investigators have been searching the Yangpyeong County Office in Gyeonggi Province and other places since morning.

It marks the first time the team has raided the county office.

Min’s team hopes to determine why a new end point was chosen for the Seoul-Yangpyeong expressway project, in an area of Yangpyeong where Kim’s family owns land.

Last month, the team conducted raids on the land ministry and a private contractor in relation to the allegation.
