South Korean football star Son Heung-min has won a FIFA award for the best goal of the year.

At the annual Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony held online Friday, Son won the Puskas Award for his stunning solo goal against Burnley in December last year in the Premier League. 

He became the second Asian player and the first in South Korea to win the award.

Son was named the winner of the prize, beating out goals from Atletico Madrid’s Luiz Suarez and Flamengo's Giorgian De Arrascaeta. 

Established in 2009 in honor of former Real Madrid striker Ferenc Puskas, the Puskas Award is presented to the player, male or female, who is judged to have scored the best goal in the given year.
