S. Korean Men Win Gold in Team Archery Event

Team Korea won the men’s team archery gold at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday, earning South Korea’s third gold medal in archery. 

The trio, comprising Oh Jin-hyek, Kim Woo-jin and Kim Je-deok, succeeded at defending the nation’s title at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo, beating out Chinese Taipei.

With this victory, South Korea has taken the gold in the men’s team event a total of six times at the Olympics. 

Oh was on the team that took gold at the 2012 London Games and Kim Woo-jin was part of the gold medal team at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Kim Je-deok won the gold with An San on Saturday in the mixed team event which made its Olympic debut at the 2020 Games.

Team Korea is aiming to win all five gold medals in archery, with the men and women’s individual events set to take place later in the week.
