The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) fell five-point-74 points, or zero-point-24 percent, on Monday, to close the day at two-thousand-409-point-22.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ rose, however, gaining three-point-58 points, or zero-point-43 percent, to close at 827-point-69.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened seven-point-two won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-301-point-five won.
