New COVID-19 cases registered in the 14-thousands on Tuesday amid a continued slowdown in the latest wave of infections.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Tuesday that 14-thousand-371 infections were reported throughout Monday including 26 from overseas, bringing the country's cumulative caseload to around 30-million-369-thousand.
The tally nearly tripled from the previous day apparently due to increased tests after the weekend, but declined by some 17-hundred from a week ago and over five-thousand from two weeks ago.
The number of critically ill hospitalized patients is down by 18 from a day earlier at 245, the lowest in 110 days since October 27 of last year.
Monday added eleven deaths, raising the death toll to 33-thousand-758. The overall fatality rate stands unchanged at zero-point-11 percent.
