New COVID-19 Cases at 14,957

New COVID-19 cases registered in the 14-thousands on Wednesday amid a continued slowdown in the latest wave of infections.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Wednesday that 14-thousand-957 infections were reported throughout Tuesday, including 19 from overseas, raising the cumulative total to around 30 million-384-thousand. 

The tally slightly rose by about 600 from the previous day but declined by some three-thousand from a week ago and over five thousand from two weeks ago.

The number of critically ill hospitalized patients is down by 17 from a day earlier at 228, the lowest since October 25 of last year.

Tuesday added 24 deaths, raising the death toll to 33-thousand-782. The overall fatality rate stands unchanged at zero-point-11 percent.
