New COVID-19 cases registered in the 12-thousands on Tuesday.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said Tuesday that 12-thousand-284 infections were reported throughout Monday, including 19 from overseas, bringing the total caseload to around 30-million-581-thousand.

The figure is up by some eight-thousand from a day ago, due in part to increased tests after the weekend.

The figure also rose by about 15-hundred from a week ago and 414 from two weeks prior, indicating that the decline is slowing down after the removal of the indoor mask mandate.

The number of critically ill patients under hospital care rose by 13 from the previous day to 158.

Monday added 15 deaths, raising the death toll to 34-thousand-49. The overall fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
