New COVID-19 Cases at 13,596

The nation added more than 13-thousand new COVID-19 cases as the on-week rise continues.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters said on Friday that 13-thousand-596 infections were reported throughout Thursday, including 21 from overseas, bringing the total caseload to over 31 million-53-thousand.

The daily tally dropped by some 500 from a day earlier, but rose by about 19-hundred from a week earlier, and more than 28-hundred from a fortnight ago.

The latest figure marks the largest in ten weeks for a Friday.

The number of critically ill patients in the hospital rose by six from the previous day to 142.

Thursday added seven deaths to raise the death toll to 34-thousand-408. The overall fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
