New daily COVID-19 cases registered in the five-thousands on Monday.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters said that five-thousand-27 infections were reported throughout Sunday, including 20 from overseas, bringing the total caseload to over 31 million-83-thousand.

The figure is down by six-thousand-807 from a day ago due in part to fewer tests administered on Sunday, but rose by 81 from a week ago and by one-thousand-22 from two weeks ago.

The daily average for the past week was tallied at 12-thousand-857.

The number of hospitalized patients for intensive care increased by two from a day ago to 146.

The death toll climbed by eight to stand at 34-thousand-427, with the overall fatality rate remaining at zero-point-11 percent.
