New COVID-19 Cases at 14,817

The nation added about 15-thousand new COVID-19 cases on Monday.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters said on Tuesday that 14-thousand-817 infections were reported throughout Monday, including 23 from overseas, bringing the total caseload to over 31 million-98-thousand.

The figure rose by about ten-thousand from a day ago due in part to increased testing after the weekend, but fell by 347 from a week ago, the first on-week drop in 12 days. Compared to two weeks ago, the figure rose by over three-thousand.

The daily average for the past week was tallied at 12-thousand-807.

The number of hospitalized patients in intensive care increased by three from the previous day to 149.

The death toll climbed by seven to stand at 34-thousand-434, with the overall fatality rate remaining at zero-point-11 percent.
