New daily COVID-19 cases registered in the 20-thousands on Tuesday.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters said that 23-thousand-680 infections were reported throughout Monday, including 34 from overseas, bringing the total cumulative caseload to over 31 million-438-thousand.

The figure rose by over 16-thousand from a day ago due in part to increased tests after the weekend. It also rose by about two-thousand from a week ago and by some eight-thousand from two weeks ago. The tally marks the largest since January 27, when it posted 31-thousand-695.

The number of hospitalized patients in intensive care remained unchanged from a day ago at 150.

The death toll rose by 13 to 34-thousand-623, with the overall fatality rate remaining at zero-point-11 percent.
