New COVID-19 Cases at 22,961

New daily COVID-19 cases registered in the 22-thousands on Wednesday.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters said that 22-thousand-961 infections were reported throughout Tuesday, including 40 from overseas, bringing the total caseload to over 31 million-592-thousand.

The figure rose by some 15-hundred from a day ago, but dropped by about 31-hundred from a week ago and by about 500 from two weeks ago. The tally posted an on-week decline for the sixth consecutive day.

The daily average for the past week was tallied at 18-thousand-205.

The number of hospitalized patients in intensive care rose by three from a day ago to 167.

The death toll climbed by 17 to stand at 34-thousand-719, with the overall fatality rate remaining at zero-point-11 percent.
