Team Korea Arrives in Sapporo for Asian Winter Games

South Korea’s 41-member squad arrived in Sapporo, Japan on Wednesday to compete in the 2017 Asian Winter Games.
 
Team Korea is aiming to rank second in the overall medal tally by grabbing 15 gold medals at the Games, which will run for a week starting from Sunday.
 
South Korea has come in second place in the medal tally twice before in the Asian Winter Games.
 
Roughly eleven-hundred athletes from 31 countries are set to compete in the event. North Korea is also expected to send seven athletes.
 
The Games’ opening ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sapporo Dome. The closing ceremony is set to take place at the Makomanai Indoor Skating Rink at 6 p.m. next Sunday.
