One good day

Lena Park - any other man

Five for fighting - superman

Both protagonists from these 2 songs talk about how they are imperfect like everyone else despite their glittering semblances.

First, in the song any other man, Lena nuna talks about how much it was hard for her to live as a famous singer.

Lyrics such as  ‘And playing a convincing role of one who does not care', 'oh, so debonair', ‘But I'll play the poet and I'll sign an autograph, Smile for the cameras with a wave to all the fans’, ‘And so I shined, And as I grew into my name” relate to her glamour lives as a celebrity.

On the other hand, lyrics - ’Playing the unnerving role’, ‘In a world of fancy I was plain’, ‘To shade the plotholes in the thoughts that never took to coming clean’ illustrate her imperfect characteristics as a human being.

As she became more famous through her career, I think she felt pressured from grandiose things that came from media or people which concealed who she actually is. So maybe she wanted to sing and write about how she is like everyone else once all those extravagant things are faded away.

The song, ‘superman’ also sings about protagonist’s woes as a human being.

Lyrics - “I’m more than a bird, I'm more than a plane, I'm more than some pretty face beside a train” and the fact that the protagonist designated oneself as a superman and a hero imply that he/she thinks himself/herself as or at least wants to be an eminent person.

This idea parallels with Lena nuna being a famous singer in the song 'any other man.'

Moreover, lyrics - ‘Wish that I could cry fall upon my knees’, ‘Even heroes have the right to bleed’, ‘I'm only a man in a silly red sheet digging for kryptonite on this one way street', 'Only a man in a funny red sheet Looking for special things inside of me’, ‘Men weren't meant to ride with clouds between their knees’ parallel with Lena nuna’s thought on herself as an imperfect being like everyone else.

I personally think these songs are very precious because most of nowadays’ songs talk about how good they are, how much money they make, what car they ride all that, but protagonists of these songs humble themselves which is very candid and rare! :)

Thank you!

Here are the lyrics

Any other man

It was always hard for me to shine

And try to immortalize my name

The more and more I tried to change

The more and more things seemed the same

And playing a convincing role of one who does not care

But the truth is out, but oh the truth is out

I'm just like any other man

In a world of fancy I was plain

In a flowery plain I'd fancy trees

To shade the plotholes in the thoughts

That never took to coming clean

Playing the unnerving role of "oh, so debonair"

But the truth is there, the truth is always there

That I'm just like any other man

But I'll play the poet and I'll sign an autograph

Smile for the cameras with a wave to all the fans

Yeah maybe I'm scared that what they've made me's what I am now

Though I'm just like any other man

I'm just like any other man

And so I shined

And as I grew into my name

The more and more I seemed to change

The more I wished it'd stay the same

And playing a convincing role of one who does not care

But the truth is out, but oh the truth is out

I'm just like any other man

But I'll play the poet and I'll sign an autograph

Smile for the cameras with a wave to all the fans

Yeah maybe I'm scared that what they've made me's what I am now

Though I'm just like any other man

I'm just like any other man

I am you are me I am any other man

I am you are me I am any other man

I am you are me I am any other man

But I'll play the poet and I'll sign an autograph

Smile for the cameras with a wave to all the fans

Yeah maybe I'm scared that what they've made me's what I am now

Though I'm just like any other man

I'm just like any other man

I'm just like any other man

I'm just like any other man

It was always hard me to shine and try to immortalize my name.

Sueprman

I can't stand to fly

I'm not that naive

I'm just out to find

The better part of me

I'm more than a bird, I'm more than a plane

I'm more than some pretty face beside a train

And it's not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry

Fall upon my knees

Find a way to lie

About a home I'll never see

It may sound absurd, but don't be naive

Even heroes have the right to bleed

I may be disturbed, but won't you concede

Even heroes have the right to dream

And it's not easy to be me

Up, up and away, away from me

Well, it's all right, you can all sleep sound tonight

I'm not crazy

Or anything

I can't stand to fly

I'm not that naive

Men weren't meant to ride

With clouds between their knees

I'm only a man in a silly red sheet

Digging for kryptonite on this one way street

Only a man in a funny red sheet

Looking for special things inside of me

Inside of me

Inside me

Inside me

Inside of me

I'm only a man

In a funny red sheet

I'm only a man

Looking for a dream

I'm only a man

In a funny red sheet

And it's not easy

It's not easy to be

Me
