Presidential Hopefuls Reveal Next Gov't Tasks

The candidates for next month’s presidential election each talked about what they think is the next government’s key tasks at a forum in Seoul on Wednesday.
 
At the forum organized by the Dong-A Ilbo newspaper and Channel A cable broadcasting firm, the main opposition Democratic Party’s presidential hopeful, Moon Jae-in, vowed to get rid of inequality, unfairness and corruption and to realize reform and integration by communicating with the people.
 
Hong Joon-pyo of the conservative Liberty Korea Party, pledged to seek a constitutional revision focused on decentralization and to reduce parliamentary privileges while defending the nation through the redeployment of tactical nuclear weapons.
 
Ahn Cheol-soo of the minor People’s Party said he will exert efforts to strongly pave the foundation for corporate activities by granting firms autonomy, stressing that it is up to the private sector and businesses to create jobs.
 
Sim Sang-jung of the Justice Party vowed to revamp the conglomerate structure, claiming that such structure is the culprit of polarization and the biggest risk to the economy.
 
Meanwhile, Yoo Seong-min of the Bareun Party stumped in a market in Yeongcheon City, North Gyeongsang Province.
