Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has made BBC sports columnist Garth Crooks' English Premier League(EPL) team of the year.
The BBC unveiled the "team of the year” on Wednesday, with Son placed as a forward on the left side of a four-three-three formation.
Crooks said he only used players who had been included on his team of the week at least three times. Every week, Crooks picks the best eleven players in every EPL round. His selections are closely tracked by football fans around the world.
Son was included on Crooks’ “team of the week” seven times this year and was the only player from Tottenham to make Crooks’ team of the year.
Last season, Son played in 30 EPL matches where he scored eleven goals and eleven assists. This season, he scored eleven goals and four assists in 15 league matches.
Crooks said in announcing his team of the year, that Son “has been electric” and “his ability to run at defenses, score spectacular goals and make things happen was the reason Spurs spent a brief time on top of the table.”
