the governor of our capital city cut down 190 BIG trees to make a PLAZA just like in europe or any sub-tropical country.
the problem is.. Indonesia is TROPICAL country. it won't works. this plaza will felt like hell. it's too hot to have a plaza. that's why the previous previous previous governor always plants trees with wide canopy in any vast area to provide shade. we do have something like plaza called alun-alun.. an op ^en public space. the differences are we don't use pavement but grass or just ground cos the use of pavement will lock down the heat.
Don't they have a team of experts in this field?
that's why it became a hot debate on TV. Jakarta is already so hot. now it's even hotter..
