Korean Film Archive Releases List of Top 100 Korean Movies

The Korean Film Archive has released a list of the 100 best Korean films selected by 62 film critics.

Number one on the list was “The Housemaid,” a movie produced in 1960 and directed by Kim Ki-young. "An Aimless Bullet" by Yoo Hyun-mok ranked second and "The March of Fools" by Ha Gil-jong placed third.

"Madame Freedom" by Han Hyung-mo, "A Coachman" by Kang Dae-jin and "Heavenly Homecoming to Stars" by Lee Jang-ho also made the top ten.

Twenty-five percent of the top 100 were produced during the 1960s, which is considered the golden age of Korean cinema.

Director Im Kwon-taek had the most films on the list at seven.
