N. Korea Urges S. Korea, US to Cancel Joint Military Drills

North Korea has called on South Korea and the U.S. to cancel their annual joint military exercises next month.

The North’s Committee for Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said in a statement on Wednesday the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle military exercises are tantamount to a declaration of "full-scale nuclear war."

The committee warned the U.S. and South Korea to stop any military exercises that will ruin inter-Korean relations.

It said the drills, if carried out, will destroy inter-Korean ties and result in unimaginable calamities and disasters.
