N. Korea Says It Will First Take Steps to Realize Its Proposal

North Korea said Saturday it will first take active steps to realize key proposals it presented to South Korea on improving inter-Korean relations. It also urged the South to respond to the its determination by taking action.

The North’s latest call came just one day after Seoul expressed regrets over Pyongyang's proposals on ending military hostilities between the two Koreas, arguing it is distorting facts and trying to mislead the public with absurd claims.

The Rodong Sinmun of the North's ruling Workers' Party said the North is firmly determined to realize the key proposals, adding that the North will first demonstrate active steps as it had declared earlier. The daily, however, did not elaborate on what specific steps it will take.

Without mentioning Seoul’s response toward the proposals, the daily said the South should find what its role is in line with the call of the times.
