S. Korea to Send Record No. of Athletes to Sochi Olympics

South Korea will send a record number of athletes to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

The current total cleared 64 after the international Ski Federation announced 13 Koreans who qualified for various skiing and snowboarding events.

Korea will also send 15 speed skaters, ten short-track skaters and three figure skaters among other athletes competing in curling, the biathlon, bobsledding, skeleton and luge.

The record number could still grow because more Korean athletes could qualify for bobsledding, luge and skiing competitions.

Korea's previous record was 48 athletes sent to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah in the U.S.
