N. Korea Criticizes South for Rejecting Proposals

North Korea says South Korea is blaming the North for slander between the two nations and using this tactic to reject Pyongyang’s latest proposals.

The Rodong Sinmun, the gazette of the North's ruling Workers' Party, said Wednesday that the Seoul government is "possessed with a foolish delusion and holds an unsavory motive to realize the futile dream of unifying the two regimes."

Last week, the North Korea's National Defense Commission proposed an end to the slander and defamation between the two Koreas.

South Korea essentially turned down the proposal, saying it has been Pyongyang that continues to slander the South in violation of an inter-Korean agreement to halt such verbal aggression.
