Seoul Waiting for Response on Family Reunion Proposal

The government says North Korea has yet to respond to its proposal to hold inter-Korean family reunions at the North’s Mount Geumgang resort next month.

A Unification Ministry official said North Korea did not respond by 4 p.m. on Monday when liaison officers from both sides at the truce village of Panmunjeom make their final contact of the day.

On Monday morning, South Korea suggested a working-level Red Cross working-level on Wednesday on the North's side of Panmunjeom to prepare for the February reunions.
