N. Korea Asks Inter-Korean Liaison Officers to Work Later

North Korea appears to be taking its time to decide how to respond to South Korea's proposal for reunions for families separated by the Korean War.

A government official in Seoul said the North proposed the two Korea's liaison officers at the truce village of Panmunjeom work later on Tuesday, adding the request came at 4 p.m. when officers from both sides make their final contact of the day.

The Seoul government is waiting for the North’s response to its offer to hold inter-Korean family reunions at the North’s Mount Geumgang resort next month.

Seoul also proposed holding working-level Red Cross talks on Wednesday on the North's side of Panmunjeom to prepare for the February reunions.
