2014 Sochi Winter Olympics to Open Friday

The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics will open on Friday for a 17-day run.
 
Around four-thousand-500 athletes from 88 countries will compete in 15 winter sport disciplines. A total of 98 gold medals will be up for grabs.
 
South Korea aims to win more than four gold medals to rank within the top ten for the third straight Winter Olympics.
 
Figure skater Kim Yu-na as well as speed skaters Lee Sang-hwa, Mo Tae-bum and Lee Seung-hoon, who all won gold medals at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, aim to top the podium again in Sochi.
 
The opening ceremony of the Sochi Winter Olympics will be held at 1:14 a.m., Korean time, Saturday.
