Pope Francis may visit South Korea this August.

A missionary news agency affiliated with the Vatican, AsiaNews, said Saturday the trip is increasing likely following the Pope’s recent authorization of a decree to canonize 124 Korean martyrs.

The agency said the Pope will likely celebrate the Grand Opening Mass of the Asian Youth Day in Daejeon, South Korea, on August 13. It also said the beatification should take place on August 15 and a "special Mass for the reunification of the two Koreas" is being planned.

But the Vatican has yet to make an official announcement about the pope visiting South Korea.

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea says it has not been notified by the Vatican of any plans related to the papal visit.
