Korea will run a program to train dozens of Thais as Korean language teachers.

Under an agreement reached by South Korea and Thailand's education ministries, 35 Thais selected as preliminary teachers will go through a four-month-long training session at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies from Wednesday.

The Thai government plans to train 140 Thais as Korean language teachers by 2017. After training, they will teach Korean at middle and high schools across the Southeast Asian nation.

Around 25-thousand students learn Korean as a secondary language at the country's middle and high schools.
