Seoul to Promote 120 'Hallyu' Tourist Attractions

Seoul City plans to promote 120 famous places and shops and seven areas in the city that appeared on Korean soap operas and entertainment TV shows.

The sites and shops were selected based on an on-site survey and research on 270 candidate sites that were popular among tourists over the past five years. The N Seoul Tower and Tongin Market were among the sites selected.

The city government plans to actively promote the sites around the world by putting them on its tourism Web site and another site dedicated to Korean pop culture.

The city also plans to distribute to airports and hotels 110-thousand booklets for tourists produced in five languages including English, Japanese and Chinese.
