Women Curlers Beat Russia in Sochi

Korea's women curlers scored their second win against host country Russia in the Sochi Winter Olympics.

The women's curling team of captain Kim Ji-sun, Shin Mi-sung, Gim Un-chi, Lee Seul-bee and Um Min-ji beat Russia 8 to 4 on Thursday in their fourth qualifications match.

They beat Japan 12 to 7 but followed that with losses to world number four Switzerland and world number one Sweden.

Winning the fourth match against world number eight Russia, Team Korea has rekindled hope of advancing to the semifinals.

Ranking tenth in the world, Korea is the lowest ranked in the ten-nation Olympic competition.
