South Korean women short track speed skaters won gold on Tuesday in the women’s 3000 meter relay.

The team of Cho Ha-ri, Kim Alang, Park Seung-hi and Shim Suk-hee topped the podium with a time of four-minutes and nine-point-51 seconds. 

Canada won silver and Italy took the bronze. China was penalized.

This is Korea’s fourth medal of the games in skating competition. Speed skater Lee Sang-hwa won gold in the women’s 500 meters, and short tracker Shim Suk-hee won silver in the women’s 1500 meters.

Before capturing gold in Tuesday’s relay, Park Seung-hi won a bronze in the women’s 500 meter short track event.

This is the first time in eight years for South Korean women short track skaters to win gold in the 3000 meter relay.
