Kim Yu-na Wins Silver in Sochi

South Korean figure skater Kim Yu-na has won a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

In the ladies' free skating event on Friday, Kim came in second with 144-point-19, while Russia's Adelina Sotnikova, who ranked second in Thursday's short program, won gold with 149-point-95. 

Kim finished first in the short program a day earlier, but fell short of winning her second Olympic gold with the overall score of 219-point-eleven. Sotnikova's total score was 224-point-59. Italy's Carolina Kostner won the bronze medal with 216-point-73.

South Korea’s Kim Hae-jin and Park So-youn took 16th and 21st place, respectively, in their Olympic debut.
