South Korean short tracker Park Seung-hi has won her second gold medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
The 21-year old Park finished first in the women's one-thousand meters on Friday with a time of one minute and 30-point-761 seconds at Iceberg Skating Palace.
Park has won three medals in Sochi, including gold in the women’s three-thousand-meter relay and bronze in the women's 500 meters.
South Korean Shim Suk-hee grabbed bronze in the women’s one-thousand-meters with a time of one minute and 31-point-027 seconds. Shim has also won three medals in Sochi, including gold in the women’s three-thousand-meter relay and silver in the women’s 15-hundred meters.
Also on Friday, Korean-born Viktor Ahn won gold for Russia in the men’s 500 meter short track and the five-thousand-meter relay. He has won four medals in Sochi, including another gold in the men’s one-thousand meters and a bronze in the men’s 15-hundred meters.
Ahn also won three gold medals at the 2006 Torino Olympics.
On Saturday, South Korea’s Lee Seung-hoon, Joo Hyong-joon and Kim Cheol-min will compete for gold in the final of the men's speed skating team pursuit. The Koreans, who are guaranteed at least silver, will be skating in a showdown with the Netherlands.
