President Park Geun-hye congratulated short trackers Park Seung-hi and Shim Suk-hee for medaling on Friday at the Sochi Winter Olympics.  
 
Skater Park won gold and Shim bronze in the women’s one-thousand meters. 
 
In a congratulatory letter, President Park said the medals are the fruit of the skaters’ efforts and passions they put toward their Olympic goals. The president said Park and Shim have deeply moved the South Korean people and given them great joy.
 
Park said she hopes the two skaters will continue to move forward to achieve greater results at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
