PM Chung, Putin Agree to Cooperate for Pyeongchang Olympics

Prime Minister Chung Hong-won and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to strengthen cooperation for the success of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Chung met Putin at a closing ceremony reception for the Sochi Olympics and asked for Moscow's cooperation in the successful hosting of the Pyeongchang games.

Putin said Pyeongchang is a well-prepared host and he hopes two countries' close cooperation for the Olympics will become a model of bilateral cooperation.

Chung also conveyed greetings from President Park Geun-hye and discussed ways to develop Seoul-Moscow ties over the long term.

The prime minister will return home Monday from his five-day visit to Sochi.
