Viktor Ahn Selected MVP by NBC TV

U.S. broadcaster NBC has named Korean-born short track skater Viktor Ahn the Most Valuable Player of the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Ahn, a naturalized Russian citizen, won three golds and one silver in the four events he entered, beating other candidates on the NBC short list of the best 14 athletes of the games.

Second on this list was Ireen Wust of the Netherlands who won two golds and a silver in women's speed skating.

Norwegian biathlete Ole Einar Bjoerndalen placed third, setting a new record for most career Winter Olympic medals with a total of 13 between 1998 and 2014.

Ole Einar Bjoerndalen and Norwegian Marit Bjoergen were also named the MVP by Euro Sports.
