This year, over 25-hundred athletes are competing in skiing, ice skating, biathlon, curling and ice hockey. Competition will be held at multiple locations throughout the country, including Pyeongchang, the host city of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

A good number of athletes who just returned from the Sochi Winter Olympics are expected to take part this year, including gold medalists Lee Sang-hwa and Kong Sang-jeong.
