Female speed skater Lee sang-hwa will receive the grand athletic prize from the Korea Olympic Committee.
 
Lee won a gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. She has also won two world championship titles and broken four world records.
 
Wrestler Ryu Han-soo and rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae will also receive awards for their outstanding performances in competitions.
 
Prizes will also be given to other athletes, coaches or judges who made a significant contribution to the development of South Korean athletics. The award ceremony will be held in Seoul on Friday afternoon.
