An association of civic groups dedicated to protecting South Korea’s sovereignty of Dokdo has called for a national campaign to counter Japan’s claims to islets in the East Sea.
 
The association held a rally downtown Seoul on Friday and said the nation’s responses to Tokyo’s moves to plunder Dokdo have been sporadic and unsystematic.
 
The association pledged to form a national confederation to seek special legislation on supporting Dokdo-related nongovernmental organizations and to support production of movies on Dokdo.
