South Korea’s Winter Paralympics Squad Departs for Sochi

The South Korean squad competing in the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics has left for the Russian city.

The 57-member squad, including 27 athletes, departed from Incheon International Airport on Saturday after vowing to do their best at their send-off ceremony. The Korea Sports Association for the Disabled said the size of the South Korean squad for the upcoming games is the largest ever to take part in Winter Paralympics.

South Korean athletes will compete in four events, including alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ice sledge hockey and wheelchair curling.

The Sochi Winter Paralympics will open next Saturday for a ten-day run.
