Indigenous Korean Dogs to Guard Cultural Assets

The Korean indigenous dog Sapsaree will serve as guard dogs at age-old temples around the country.

The Korean Sapsaree Foundation says it will give 20 Sapsarees to 17 temples designated as cultural assets to help prevent burglary and arson.

The temples include Magok Temple in South Chungcheong Province and Eunhaesa in North Gyeongsang Province.

A launching ceremony for the guard dog program will be held on March 15th.
