2014 Winter Paralympics Opens in Sochi

The 2014 Winter Paralympics opened in Sochi, Russia for a ten-day run on Saturday, Korea time.
 
Five-hundred-50 athletes from 45 countries are competing in the Sochi Paralympics, the largest winter Paralympics ever to be held.
 
Under the theme, “Breaking the Ice,” the games were launched at an opening ceremony at Fisht Olympic Stadium.
 
The South Korean delegation entered the stadium 28th in alphabetical order according to Russia’s alphabet.
 
Twenty-seven South Korean athletes will compete in four events, including wheelchair curling and ice sledge hockey.
