The government has signed a deal with U.S. motion picture company Marvel Studios to shoot major scenes of the sequel to Hollywood blockbuster "The Avengers" in Seoul.

South Korea’s Ministry of Culture signed the deal Tuesday, giving full support to Marvel Studios to film parts of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in the South Korean capital. In return, Marvel Studios agreed to positively portray South Korea in the movie.

Marvel’s production team plans to shoot battle and explosion scenes in Seoul starting from the end of this month to April 12th.

The studio's budget for the shoot is ten billion won, double the average production budget for a South Korean commercial film.

The second Avengers movie will feature Korean actress Claudia Kim, who is also known as Soo-hyun.

The first Avengers movie was released in 2012 and earned one-point-six trillion won in some 80 countries.
