An outdoor performance introducing Korea’s traditional folk song, Arirang, was held on Wednesday in New York’s Times Square.
 
The Korean Traditional Cultural Art Association organized the event as part of its global project to promote Arirang and celebrate the inscription of the folk song on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
 
The event included performance calligraphy by calligrapher Lee Sang-hyun and a music performance.
